I was recently in jail. I got bonded out and when it came time for them to give me my property back ( two cell phones, cigarettes, wallet, keys, etc..) they stated that they lost it and I would have to keep coming back and asking if they found it. ( I live 5 hours away and can’t keep going back and forth.) I have tried calling instead of going up to the jail but they just tell me they can’t give that information over the phone. It has been a week and they have yet to locate anything. What are my options here? Do I just need to start filing for lost/stolen credit cards and accept all the money being gone and pay my girlfriend back for her phones?

Basically you have no options. Yes chalk it up to a bad experience and do what you have to do to replace your credit cards etc, and yes pay your girlfriend for her phones.
